“Mail Art” uses the postal system to share art, sometimes among members of loosely connected networks of people unified by common interest and a desire to collaborate and exchange work and ideas. These are movements and projects that anyone can take part in, with an interesting history. Some artists are organized and hold events, or have specific topics that apply to their work. Some trade art cards, or have interactive projects that span continents.

I became interested in mail art many years ago, and have many postcards from around the world.  If you are interested in exchanging, please contact me! Thank you for the links and emails about resources.

Feminist Postcard Exchange List: Coming in Spring, 2009. Participants will exchange postcards with others on the list, sharing art and thoughts and reflections and activism.  Details coming, inquire if you are interested in being added to the exchange list. The only requirement is a valid mailing address and a commitment to participate by sending at least one postcard out during the exchange. Postcards for this project can be handmade, purchased, or virtual. Postal cards preferred, and should meet USPS guidelines for postcard postage. (larger cards may require additional stamps) As we get closer to this project, more information will be posted including graphics and buttons to show your participation on your blog or website. Check back!
